Chatolich Church of Kiskunmajsa

In the main square of the town, there is the Roman Catholic Church, built in late baroque style and sanctified in honour to Blessed Virgin Mary, the predecessor of which was started to be built by settlers from Tószeg in 1743, out of straw and mud. In 1761, a new church was built out of solid materials. It gained its current form in 1809, its length is today: 50 meters, the width: 21 meters. What is special about the church is that its main entrance is not located under the 42 meters’ high tower.
